One Year Later

It has been one year since we bought our home. Most days it feels like it's been five years, but on others it feels like I'm in a stranger's house. This year has been particularly trying for us, and that's mostly because of this house we call home. Let's take a little journey through the madness, shall we?

NURSERY (FORMERLY MC'S ROOM; NOW PENN'S)

This is the best before photo I got. It was hunter green below the chair rail and mustard above it.

After when it belonged to MC.

So just for the sake of recording, here's what we were able to accomplish in one year:

1. Replaced all siding on main house and painted (Sea Pine by Benjamin Moore)
2. Added crown and dental molding to exterior
3. Replaced flat roof over kitchen
4. Replaced columns on front entry
5. Sanded front entrance and repainted
6. Painted kitchen (Seaspray by Benjamin Moore)
7. Painted foyer/staircase/2nd floor hallway (Grant Beige by Benjamin Moore)
8. Painted small bedroom on front of house (Seaspray by Benjamin Moore)
9. Painted second bedroom on back of house (Grant Beige by Benjamin Moore)
10. Painted library
11. Painted both upstairs bathrooms (Bleaker Beige by Benjamin Moore)
12. Painted shop/unattached garage and 2-car garage (Sea Pine)
13. Painted staircase to basement (Revere Pewter by BM)
14. Replaced plumbing under brick patio and re-bricked
15. Added white subway tile backsplash in kitchen
16. Updated appliances in kitchen (stainless refrigerator and microwave)
17. Replaced security system
18. Added gas light to back of house
19. Replaced gutters on back porch area

There may be more, but that's all my brain is able to drum up at the moment. There are still MANY things to be done... and nearly every one of them is expensive... so we will constantly be saving for projects over the next few years. But I think that we are finally in a place where we can live here and not dread the next project, though I'm sure Chad disagrees. :)
