MaryCollis' BFF Peyton turned 3 last week. MC woke up on the wrong side of the bed, so she had a nice little nap on the way to the party.
She decided to be shy as soon as we arrived, so she avoided the fun jumpy castle - where all the other kids were - and opted for the outdoor kitchen.
She was completely anti-social the entire time. She slid down the slide at least 17 times (by herself) and only spoke to me... which is hilarious because all she ever talks about is Peyton. I think she just didn't know what to do about all those other people she didn't know.
It was a Mardi Gras birthday, so we sang "Happy Birthday" to the new 3-year-old, and she blew out the candles on the king cake.
Peyton is starting some new dance classes, so she got lots of dance clothes and accessories. MaryCollis gave her one of my hand-painted ballerina dress pillows, so that was fitting. Of course, MaryCollis has one just like it, so she refused to let Peyton have it because she thought it was hers. This is precisely why we don't open gifts at our parties. Speaking of parties, I'm in the midst of planning MC's 3rd birthday party. It's going to be a blast!
