Thanksgiving 2015 was one for the record books. We relaxed and enjoyed each other's company the entire week. No rushing, no schedules, no shopping... just family time. On Thanksgiving day, we played outside and rode on the Mule with Doc, and ate entirely too much.
When we were growing up, my Papa would take us down to the Troll Hole and tell us there was a troll who lived there. Doc is carrying on that tradition, and on Thanksgiving he showed the kids a tree where the troll had apparently built himself a new home because there was now a door on the outside of that tree.
The Saturday after Thanksgiving, I took the kids to the park, and we had the best time. NOBODY was there, so we had the whole park to ourselves.
I also took some quick backyard photos for our Christmas card...
On Sunday we had our annual Advent Family Lunch at Mitchell Farms. We had never been to Mitchell Farms, so my kids were in heaven. They jumped on the giant pillow until they couldn't jump anymore, they slid, they rode the train, they played in the dirt, they rode the hayride, they climbed on the tractor, they played in the corn, MaryCollis taught school, Penn preached the word, they ran all over that place. They were wo' out.
It was the best time. Ever. My dear, sweet friend Cindy does such a great job with the children of our church. We are so blessed to have her as our children's minister. I love you, friend!
